Our Guest Minister for October 26, is the Rev. Rebecca Chancellor Sicks. She has been a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA) for over 15 years. Rev. Sicks was reared in Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma State University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She attended Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Austin, TX where she earned a Master of Divinity. Her early professional life included a lot of camp and conference ministry, as well as youth and children’s ministry. Once ordained, Rev. Sicks served congregations in Portland, OR, Salina, KS, and Dallas, TX.
Rev. Sicks currently serves as a Parish Associate at Northridge Presbyterian Church in Dallas, TX where she oversees faith formation for all ages, connection and engagement for members and new members, and the caring ministries. Rev. Sicks is passionate about building community among all ages, including children and youth in the whole life of the church, and learning more every day about loving God and neighbor. In Grace Presbytery (a regional body in North Texas), Rebecca serves as the Co-Moderator for the Committee on Preparation for Ministry, supporting people who feel called to ordained ministry.
She and her husband will celebrate nine years of marriage while in Holden Beach in October! Together they have two children and a dog named Knox.
