Chaplain Brandon R. Moore - 1st Special Forces

Our Guest Minister for May 15th, is Chaplain Brandon R. Moore, the Command Chaplain - 1st Special Forces Command (Airborne), Fort Bragg, NC.  Chaplain Moore comes to 1st SFC (A) from Washington, DC, where he served at the Pentagon as the Strategic Communication Officer, for the Office of the Chief of Chaplains (OCCH) from 2019-2021.

Upon graduation from high school, he enlisted in the US Army Reserve as a Chaplain Assistant (56M) in 1996. He received a B.A. in Homiletics from Lincoln Christian University, in 2000, and a Masters of Divinity from Lincon Christian Seminary in 2004.  While in Seminary, he was commissioned as a Chaplain Candidate and served as senior pastor of the Kenney Christian Church in Illinois from 2001-2005.  He is endorsed from the Christian Church and Churches of Christ (CCCC), and is a native of Illinois.

In 2005, Chaplain Moore became an Active Duty Army Chaplain at Ft. Bragg, NC, where he served and deployed to Iraq as part of the "Surge" with the 407th Brigade Support Battalion (BSB), 82nd Airborne Division. From 2008-2012, he served and deployed twice to Iraq, with the 4th Battalion, 5th Group Special Forces (Airborne), Ft. Campbell, KY.

Following the Chaplain Captains Career Course (C4), he was selected for Advance Civil Service (ACS) and earned a Masters of Theology in Preaching from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, also taking classes at Harvard Divinity School and Boston University as part of the program.  Following ACS, he was assigned to United States Army Chaplain Center and School, as an instructor and the Homiletics Subject Matter Expert (SME) 2013-2016. While there, he earned the Master Instructor Badge and taught over 3000 students in all three branches and components.  Next, he served on brigade staff as the 2nd IBCT Chaplain for 25th Infantry Division and the North Community Pastor for USAHAW/IMCOM, at Schofield Barracks, HI, from 2017-2019.

Chaplain Moore's awards include the Bronze Star Metal (1OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (4OLC), Army Commendation Medal (1OLC), Army Achievement Medal (3OLC), Iraq Campaign Metal (4 Stars), the Parachutist Badge and the Army Staff Badge.

His military education includes CGSOC, CH BDE functional course, various Army Instructor and Development courses, Chaplain Captains Career Course (C4), ASIST T4T, Chaplain Officer Basic Officers Leadership Course (CH-BOLC), Warrior Leader Course, Combat Life Savers Course, Mobile Force Protection Course and Airborne School.

Chaplain Moore is currently a student at Johnson University, pursuing a PhD in Educational Leadership.  He is an Instructor with CrossTalk Global: an international teaching initiative, a member of the Academy of Homiletics and Evangelical Homiletics Society and has appeared in episodes of Magnum PI and Hawaii Five-O.  He has produced two films, "Growing Through Adversity" and "Growing Through Diversity".

He has been married for over 20 years to the former Susany Snyder of LeGrande, Oregon.  They have two children, Titus (13) and Eden (11).
