For the last several months the Selection Committee and the Board of Trustees have asked for your prayers to guide us in the selection of a new Chaplain. We are pleased to announce that Reginald Rushing has been selected as our new Chaplain.
Reggie’s relationship with the Chapel goes back nearly 25 years and he is known by many in the Chapel. Reggie’s early involvement with Holden Beach Chapel was spent working with Toni Holden and the choir at her house practicing their music and then walking to the Chapel for the Service. He has been a “Minister of the Week” from 1996 until the present.
For the past 15 years Reggie has been the senior pastor of Louisburg Baptist Church in Louisburg, NC. He has an extensive background in church music and holds bachelor degrees from Wake Forest University and the University of North Carolina Charlotte. He has Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Campbell University.
His wife, Sandy, has a degree in Music Education from UNC Greensboro and is a real estate broker in Youngsville, NC. They have three adult children and three grandchildren with another one due in October.
Reggie’s first official day as our full time chaplain will be Monday, September 10th. We look forward to working with Reggie and continuing the spiritual maturation of the Chapel.
