Adult Sunday School Class – Sunday morning, 9:45 a.m. in Fellowship Hall, preceding the 11 a.m. service. Joe Moorefield is our lead teacher. We study the International Sunday School lesson guideline,-scripture, and application to our lives. This is a very caring group. A short visitation time precedes the lesson – “catching up” and reviewing concerns and joys. We welcome new members or “drop-ins”.
Evening Bible Study – Third Monday of the month, September through May, at 7:00 p.m. The Chapel’s oldest Bible study group meets monthly in members’ homes. Members volunteer to lead the study with everyone sharing ideas and participating. Using Presbyterian study books, the focus is on understanding the Bible and how its lessons apply in our modern world. In past years the studies have included the books of Acts, Luke, and Exodus and topics such as the Beatitudes. The study guide for 2015 – 2016 is Rivers of Water, exploring the use of water imagery in both the New and Old Testaments. Contact Elene Busch.
Men’s Bible Study (Monday, 8:00 a.m. – 9:0 a.m., Chapel Conference Room.) The meetings are good, the companionship with the men is good and all that this group is learning is proving invaluable. The study takes participants into the heart of what it means to live as a Christian and as a result, in finding the peace, joy, and comfort we all seek. Currently, Harold Wright is teaching the group, using the Bible and the book The Bible Speaks to You by Robert McAfee Brown. There is no heavy homework, just a little reading. Contact Rocky Atkinson, Chairman.
